My students are 1st-3rd graders representing over 20 zip codes from around Baltimore City. Our students are diverse and they represent the best of what humanity has to offer. My students are building their understanding of the world and are inspired to mold their future with the seeds of positivity and love.
My mission is to create an environment where students' humanity is affirmed through sensorial, social-emotional, and cultural learning in the spirit of Maria Montessori.
It is inspirational to see the hard work our students put in their work. For our students to continue growing, we need to provide a welcoming and abundantly resourced environment, as well as experiential experiences. Our students not only need this from me, but they deserve to have a first-rate learning experience! Help us build the classroom and school environment our students deserve and their future success demands! Thank you!
This school year, we have been learning about climate change. We have been studying the science behind greenhouse emissions. We have conducted experiments that model how melting polar ice caps cause sea-level rise. We have conducted extensive research and participated in Socratic dialogues on the adverse effects sea temperature rise has on marine life. Through these conversations, my students have decided to plan an experiential learning trip to the National Aquarium.
Our students understand that their generation will be tasked with finding solutions to preserve the marine life we take for granted today.
For them, global warming isn't a political matter for debate, but instead a threat to the natural world we hold dear. Our students plan to use the trip to further their climate knowledge and see, many for the first time, how precious our natural world is. Our students need your help!
