My Students
My students are amazing, unique learners who are different and special in their own ways. They all come from different stories, experiences, and learning styles. Regardless of what their backgrounds or home lives may be, one thing is for certain, they love to come to school and learn. School is their safe place; their place where they feel part of a family, and a place where their possibilities are endless.
My students face so many obstacles and uncertainties.
Having the right tools will provide them with the success that they may never feel outside of the classroom.
My students' love of learning and excitement when they come to school makes them so inspiring. Their outlook on the world and how they interact at school makes them so special and unique. I am proud and love to teach each and every one of my students.
My Project
Everyone needs a place that they feel is their "safe place". For my students, our classroom often takes on this role.
My students experience so much at such a young age that our classroom becomes the one and only place that is safe, loving, welcoming and peaceful; without our mindful classroom, they would never know what it feels to be okay.
The light strips would go around our doorway to welcome our students into a bright and welcoming environment. The emotions book and resources would be used whenever a student needed to calm their bodies and daily during our circle time. It is important for my students to understand their emotions and understand that its okay to feel different ways. The projecting light would be used during mindful time for students to look at and watch as they calmed their bodies. The bands would go on the chairs of a my students who need to get out their extra wiggles all day long. Overall, all of these tools and resources will help to create an even more mindful classroom for my students to feel at peace in.
