My Project

Mindfulness is important for my young students because it helps them learn to notice their thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without immediately reacting. It is a simple skill that can support healthy emotional and social development.

For young children, mindfulness does not need to mean sitting quietly for a long time.

It can be as simple as focusing on a glitter jar, taking three slow breaths, noticing five things they can see, or paying attention to how their body feels.

The goal isn't to make children calm all the time; it's to help them recognize what they're experiencing and develop healthy ways to respond.
