My Project

Musical exploration through the use of instruments and hands on materials offers autistic students a dynamic avenue for learning and self-expression. For many autistic individuals, music can promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. Through hands-on engagement with instruments, students can develop sensory integration skills, improve motor coordination, and enhance auditory processing abilities. The rhythmic patterns and melodic structures that are found in music can aid in language development and communication skills. As students explore different instruments and manipulatives, they not only discover new sounds but also cultivate a sense of curiosity and creativity. This process fosters a supportive and inclusive learning environment where autistic students can thrive, building confidence and a deeper connection to the world of music.

My special needs students range in age from 5-12 and are amazing individuals who would benefit from a variety of hands on material that would nuture their imagination and their love of music.
