Meeting My Students’ Social-Emotional Needs With Flexible Seating

Help me give my students flexible seating and tools for social emotional learning. We need floor seats, lap trays, and other seating options, as well as Little Spot SEL books, and sensory toys.

My Project

My students love using flexible seating and fidgets for meeting their social and emotional needs. In my classroom, students are allowed to work in areas other than their desks in order to meet individual needs. Many of my students have needs for flexible seating, such as these floor seats, and fidget tools, like stress balls, in order to give their full attention to learning. This project would provide more flexible seating and opportunities for my students to address ongoing SEL needs. My students use flexible seating during morning meeting, reading centers, math time and partner/group work. In addition, I currently provide fidgets to my students out of my own pocket.
