Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are motivated and enthusiastic 5th graders who enjoy learning using manipulative tools. They come from very diverse backgrounds and many of them are English Language Learners. They enjoy collaborating and supporting each other.
They are eager to develop their math skills with activities that will inspire and engage them.
They enjoy challenging, interesting, and relevant math problems. Because their needs are so diverse, my students need differentiated activities in independent or small group stations to meet those needs.
My Project
The math materials I am requesting will serve the needs of all my students by providing them with volume, fraction, and measurement activities in engaging math stations. The hands on math kits will challenge them to understand key math concepts. The number lines, white boards, and manipulatives will help students master 5th grade Math Standards involving fractions, volume, measurement, and problem solving.
These materials will allow me to create targeted, independent, and collaborative small group stations during which students will be able to review, practice, and solidify their learning while having fun.
This will allow me to provide interventions to struggling students as well.
