This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our seventh and eighth-grade students are full of grit and agency! As a project-based learning school, our students are not afraid to take on challenges, conquer rigorous projects and think critically about the current world. On a typical day you will see our students huddled together discussing, debating, creating, and being the drivers of their own learning.

In this project, students will be researching major historical events from the Middle Ages and Feudal Japan, and will collaborate to create light up art displays and illuminated poems for a nighttime exhibition intended to teach our guests about the history of these great civilizations!

We are seeking supplies such as card stock and hot glue guns for students to create shadowboxes and illuminated poems. These supplies ensure that students will have the ability to creatively interpret their vision of the middle ages.
