World Enrichment is a co-teaching PBL course, that combines 7th grade World History with English Language Arts. All of the reading and writing done in the class is centered around history and the connection history has to today's world. The focus of this project is for students to build a sense of empathy by thinking critically about current conflict that exists in the world today. We are seeking a class set of the novel I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up for Education and Changed the World, to challenge students to see the world from someone's perspective they may have never considered. Many of our students are English language learners, therefore the young reader's edition is perfect for making the reading accessible. Without a doubt, our students will be thankful to add this powerful novel to their reading list this school year!
