This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a dual language school and our students are learning both English and Spanish. Next school year, I would love to start a media club. My purpose on why I want to start a media club is to encourage our student to showcase their love for being bilingual and biliterate as well as be involved in school and community concerns.

In order to start this club successful, I need to be a student again and learn how to use the proper equipment such as the requested microphones to run a media club.

My personalized professional development journey would include how to set up a microphone; how to position it and how to film using a microphone. I plan to research professional development articles and videos to enhance my voyage toward learning how to create, edit and produce videos. Once I have completed my own professional development and learn more, I can start the next school year ready to recruit students to becoming members of the Media Club.

I am a big believer that using technology enhances learning especially in the 21st century. With your generous donation to this project, you have the chance to help me as a teacher and eventually help my students to learn more about filming, editing and producing.
