My Project

I teach a K/1 multiage classroom. My students love to read and love to sit and listen to stories read to them, however, when it comes to math, they struggle to stay focused. Math often seems boring and dull to them.

I would love to provide them with the opportunity to learn math through literacy using selected mentor texts that would help enrich their math learning.

Using literacy introduces mathematics in another way and teaches kids math without them realizing they are even learning math. It also allows me to teach them using a subject that they already love.
