Math Puzzles for Students at Equity Focused School

My Project

During the last weeks of school, our first grade students are going to have a "higher order thinking camp." This small group work will allow them to have fun, while learning. Utilizing spatial reasoning skills is not always a skill that all students have. If they are not exposed to high-quality activities to challenge them in this area, they simply will not know how to do these sorts of things. Our goal is to have activities for them to practice these skills so that when they take the cognitive aptitude test in second grade, they are on an equal playing field! Sometimes lack of exposure can be a setback for the students, even though their aptitude is equal.

To encourage spatial reasoning skills, these wooden block puzzles will be both fun and engaging for the students.

The students would be so excited to have these engaging activities to utilize.
