My Students

Our students are ready and willing to take on the challenges of a 21st-century education. They have many diverse styles of learning and need exposure to 21st-century learning resources. They need to collaborate with their peers and lead by example.

We are 95% African-American, 2% Haitian-American, 2% Hispanic, and 1% Caucasian with 97% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Our school is located in the inner city of Miami, Florida. Although our students are faced with many socio-economic challenges, they seek a high-quality education to become productive citizens.

My Project

Covid-19 has drastically impacted schools, including temporary closures and long distance learning. These factors created learning losses which need to be mitigated by providing mathematically rich classes. Many of our students need quick refreshers of previous grade level topics. Anchor charts provide a handy outline to teach these grade level topics.

We need math posters to anchor students' thinking and promote retention of key math concepts.

The math posters will be used during whole group instruction as a teaching aid and also during a small group, teacher led center with our struggling learners to scaffold critical math concepts.
