This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
These activities will help my students stay engaged in learning multiplication while I teach small groups. I wanted new activities that were hands-on to help students get stronger with their multiplication fact fluency. As we are working on multiplying 2-digit numbers, students are still getting stuck on the 1-digit basic facts. I like that most of these activities are self-checking and give students immediate feedback. Students will also benefit from the magnetic area models to visualize how multiplication looks. I will use these for explaining multiplication word problems to the class.
