Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classes are made up of 7th and 8th grade students who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Not only do my students come from varying ethnic backgrounds but the life experiences that they've had are incredibly unique. That is what makes them so loving and makes the classroom fun!
They are an energetic loving bunch who want to further their education and reach their maximum potential.
They are brave and willing to take chances in the classroom. They love to collaborate and work with each other to enrich learning which is why I want to take the time to meet their needs.
My Project
I would love for you guys to take a moment and donate! My students need extra math support to close achievement gaps. Unfortunately, my one hour with them a day is not enough to get them to where they need to be, therefore, I am opening my classroom door an hour early every Friday morning for Math Mornings with Ms. Hill. I will be asking students to come in early for math enrichment and will be providing students with breakfast.
In my Donorschoose.org project, I am asking for financial support for non-perishable items but I will also be providing my students with fruits, veggies, or smoothies in the mornings!
I am hoping that this will help motivate my students to work hard and reach their maximum math potential!
Thank you in advance for all the love and support! I cannot wait to see the impact this will have in my classroom and my student's lives.
