My Students

I am a special education teacher at TM School in Worcester. We are fully remote due to the status of COVID-19 in Worcester and we, as a school, are trying to find ways to keep students motivated. Our students are turning their homes into classrooms but noisy classrooms. We have been learning remotely all year and due to the increased numbers of COVID-19 in our area we are continuing after the new year....we need more Jiji plushies to send home to our students!

My school is a high poverty school in the inner city of Worcester, where most students receive free lunch.

Many of my students battle homelessness, extreme poverty, and challenging home situations. Despite the challenges my students face, they enter my classroom to find comfort, safety, and fun! We strive as a school family to make learning a fun, rewarding experience and to create a safe and comfortable environment.

My Project

Students have been participating in a 6 week-long competition. They had to meet their ST Math minutes each week in order to keep their streak going.

The Jiji Plush is their final prize if they met their goal for 6 weeks in a row!

Students in grades K-6 are so looking forward to earning this prize for meeting their goal for 6 weeks in a row!
