Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our amazing scholars attend a Title 1 Public School in a low income Central Florida community. We have worked very hard to become a "B" School and our talented teachers and students are driven to make it an "A" School!

What makes our school unique is the diversity of our scholars and the design of our curriculum to promote global awareness.

Our goal is to contribute to a community of open-minded and culturally aware youth who strive to achieve personal and academic greatness.

My Project

To encourage students to continue working hard nearing the end of a trying year, I would like to establish a "Math Merchandise Counter". Students can spend "Math Money" which they earn through effort and proficiency on Math tasks.

The "Math Money" itself is designed using various representations of currency.

Students will have to apply their math skills to be able to spend their earnings wisely.

Through this program, students will maintain motivation to do well with Math tasks in the classroom as the school year becomes focused on statewide testing.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
