Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach small group ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) instruction with an amazing, creative group of students that are always ready for something new. I get the opportunity to support my students directly during a time in their life that is often their first exposure to English. Together we work on the areas of academics where they struggle the most so that they will succeed in the classroom.

"Mathematics gives us hope that every problem has a solution".

I am requesting visual / picture math flash cards to support my ESOL learners as they transition to learning math in a new language. The visual nature of these flash cards will best support the learning style of my students as second language learners. Visuals and pictures transcend verbal language making them the perfect learning resources when learning a second language. I am also requesting a gumball machine to be used as a positive motivation and reinforcement for my students after successful lessons. Thank you for your consideration and support of my students!
