Students in my classes come from a wide variety of backgrounds. I work in a Title I middle school and have some students who lack the essentials for school. My kids all share the common traits of being extremely hard workers and highly motivated learners. They are willing to take risks and try anything I throw at them. My class sometimes looks like organized chaos but it's because my students can work well together and always help one another through our learning journey.
My Project
I am hoping to create a game center in my Math classroom to use as a brain break, station option, or even for remediating basic skills for my most struggling students. I do not have enough Math games for an entire class so I've only ever been able to offer a small selection to small groups or student who happen to come in for extra help. I would like to offer physical board and card games that reinforce mental Math skills as a break or activity option. I am including stickers as prizes as well and clipboards for helping students move around the room while completing games like this and keeping track of their work. Thank you for your support!
