This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

As I finish my twenty-third year of teaching, I continue to follow this mantra in my classroom.
I teach 30 wonderful students who come from poverty. My students are extremely motivated, and they are genuinely respectful of each other. They are lovers of learning, and I am truly grateful to be their teacher this year. They come to school with smiles on their faces, and they are eager to learn. They are from varying ethnic backgrounds. Most of them come from homes that are struggling financially. My school families and I are struggling to do e-learning together.
During this difficult time of e-learning, I have been doing Google Meets with my students. My school resources are in my classroom. I can not access any of my teaching supplies at this time. This makes it very difficult to teach math. I need math manipulatives to use during our e-learning so my students can better understand the math concepts while at home. Thank you.
My Project
My amazing first graders have been working incredibly hard on their learning websites, workbook pages that were sent home, and reading their take-home books. I am so proud of them and miss my friends every day. My first-grade friends would benefit greatly from me having math manipulatives to use during our Google Meets and videos while learning at home. All my necessary supplies are in my classroom and can not be accessed at this time.
My students are visual learners and would benefit greatly from seeing math concepts explained with math manipulatives.
The magnetic numbers, math morning meeting chart, and place value chart will help my students to better understand place value, adding, and counting while e-learning at home. It would mean the world to me to be able to have these math manipulatives to use during my math e-learning lessons. Thank you.
