Help me give my students manipulatives to make math fun! Learning basic addition and subtraction with accuracy and fluency can be boring unless we make learning meaningful with games, learning stations, and hands on manipulatives.

My Students

Second grade is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. These eight- and nine-year-olds are so eager to learn. They enjoy being social and active while learning. Many of them are working toward independence in their reading and writing.

We are a community of learners who share similar experiences and interests, yet our goals may be very different.

We celebrate inclusion in our school district. Our second-grade classroom has students with autism, learning support needs, speech and language goals, and students who are gifted. We come together for the learning objective and work to achieve these targets at varying levels.

My Project

Imagine mastering basic math facts with engaging interactive learning stations and games! Drilling flashcards is boring and my students would thrive with more exciting activities to help them learn and master their facts. Please help me create this opportunity for them!

Students will be rolling dice, using cards, and playing games to master their math facts.

These resources will help facilitate unlimited learning activities and provide students with a strong foundation on which many future math lessons will be built . Students will be engaged in meaningful lessons and having so much fun that they won't realize how much they are practicing and learning!
