Even during independent reading responses, students could quickly jot down connections, vocabulary words, and reflections without worrying about a dull or missing pencil.\r\n\r\nThe students were thrilled when they first saw the colorful, pre-sharpened pencils and the shiny electric sharpener. Many commented on how \"cool\" it was to have pencils that were always ready to go, and they immediately recognized that these tools would make their writing tasks easier and more enjoyable.
