My Students
My school is in a low-income area and with the closure of school last year. I am looking for ways to help support students that may have gaps.
My students are eager to learn so much about the world around them. They are ready to be hands-on learners.
My Project
My students need to learn basic math skills. Students learn better when they can work with other students. They spend 60 minutes a week in math centers playing games with their peers. I want to give them a variety of games across all math operations to play.
Having hands-on math manipulatives will help the kids see math differently. Using the manipulatives in a small group will help me teach students to see math in real-time. This concept of holding math will help the visual learners to see the basic math skills.
This classroom project was brought to life by Nevada Department of Education.
