Looking back at 2021, my students were facing a significant hurdle: after 18 months away from the physical classroom, their fine motor skills and hand strength had noticeably declined. Your support provided the exact tools they needed to bridge that gap. \r\n\r\nBecause of your donations, we were able to rebuild writing stamina. The specialized materials helped students regain the \"writing muscles\" they lost during distance learning. I saw students transition from struggling to hold a pencil to confidently completing work. Using the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, I was able to download specific pre-writing and bilateral coordination bundles. These printable resources gave my students the repetitive, engaging practice they needed to master letter formation again. \r\n\r\nYour investment did more than just provide supplies; it restored my students' confidence in their own abilities. As the school nurse, I see firsthand how essential access to ice is in responding to daily health needs, minor injuries, and emergencies. This donated ice maker has significantly improved our ability to provide timely, effective care to students and staff.\r\n\r\nIce is one of the most frequently used resources in the health office. On any given day, students present with sprains, strains, bumps, headaches, nosebleeds, dental injuries, and other minor traumas that benefit from immediate cold therapy. Prior to receiving the ice maker, access to ice was limited and inconsistent, which sometimes delayed care or required staff to seek ice from other areas of the building. The new ice maker ensures a reliable, sanitary, and readily available supply, allowing injuries to be treated promptly and appropriately.\r\n\r\nIn addition to injury care, the ice maker plays an important role in managing heat-related issues and supporting hydration. During warmer months, physical education classes, recess, sports practices, and outdoor events increase the risk of dehydration and heat exhaustion. Having access to ice allows the health office to quickly cool students, prepare cold compresses, and support hydration needs when students are overheated or feeling unwell. This has enhanced our ability to prevent minor issues from escalating into more serious medical concerns.\r\n\r\nThe ice maker has also improved infection control and hygiene. A dedicated machine for health-related use reduces the need to share ice sources with food service or other departments, lowering the risk of contamination. This is especially important in a school setting, where maintaining cleanliness and preventing the spread of illness are ongoing priorities.\r\n\r\nBeyond the health office, the impact of this donation extends to the broader school community. Teachers, coaches, and staff benefit from knowing that medical support is well-equipped and responsive. Parents gain peace of mind knowing their children have access to proper care during the school day. In emergency situations, having immediate access to ice can make a critical difference while waiting for additional medical support.","fullyFundedDate":1768097692092,"projectUrl":"project/ice-ice-maybe/9993598/","projectTitle":"Ice Ice Maybe?","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Marks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9525023"},{"teacherId":6630305,"projectId":10040073,"letterContent":"Thanks to everyone for helping me send a big thank you to Donors Choice !
