My Students

I am a special education teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district. My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom.

My students all have different academic and social goals they are working towards, but that does not stop them from being amazing kids.

They all want to be successful in everything they do whether it be reading, writing, math, or just focusing more in class

My classroom environment is nurturing one, with a small and very close group of kids that love to learn together.

My Project

Most of my students have not been in school for almost 2 years because of the pandemic, because of this, they are lacking some needed skills to advance their education and meet their IEP goals.

The materials will be fun hands-on activities to give them some much-needed practice.

The reading material will help with reading comprehension and fluency. The Math materials will help them learn their math facts as well as supplement the grade level curriculum so they have enriching activities to help bridge the gap of bookwork and use it in real-world activities.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
