Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first graders have worked extremely hard this school year to build a foundation for their future learning. They have become amazing readers, writers and mathematicians. With summer coming soon, I am concerned that many of my students will experience "Summer Slide" and start second grade with less skills than they have now.

The purchase of these materials will allow me to create a "Learning Toolkit" to send home with each of my students so that they can continue learning through the summer.

Each child will receive a pencil box with necessary learning tools- pencils, glue sticks, scissors, and crayons so that they can continue to be writers and mathematicians at home. My students LOVE learning, but many of them do not have the resources at home to support their learning. These "Learning Toolkits" will foster my students' love for learning and help keep them prepared for a successful year in second grade.
