Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an amazing group of kindergartners who attend a Title I school located in a high-poverty area of Los Angeles. Many of them come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and are second language learners, but they know that hard work is the way to succeed. Although my students may have many challenges, they have a love for learning that is immeasurable.

During this pandemic, my students continue working hard to learn and thrive at school and at home.

Even though some students didn't get the opportunity to attend school during the pandemic, their dedication to achieve shines through!

My Project

Since the students returned to school after winter break the amount of Covid-19 cases have risen at our school. My students are 5 and 6 years old and have a hard time keeping their masks on throughout the day.

With the Omicron virus being extremely transmissible and so easy to catch many students are getting sick and spreading the virus to others in the classroom.

Having the N95 mask can really make a difference in reducing the amount of kids getting sick. The N95 masks have more layers for protection than the regular masks. The N95 masks fit better around their little faces. Keeping the students safe is extremely important for the families in our school community.
