My curious first graders love exploring our world! Due to our International Baccalaureate inquiry based learning model, their questions are endless! No matter where they are academically, whether it be above or below level, I want to assure that their education is engaging and accessible. Therefore, my students spend a majority of their day interacting with their peers, using technology to explore new concepts, and learning from each other as I help guide their instruction and answer their questions.
My independent learners need the right tools to keep them excited about learning and to prepare them for their futures.
Our classroom is created around building independence, so my students not only value the knowledge of their teacher, but, also learn how to love, value, and trust their peers.
My first graders have a variety of needs from pre-Kindergarten to third grade levels in both reading and math. My job is to meet them where they are academically and help them continue to grow. Therefore, I work with my students mainly in small group and one-on-one. During our math block, while my students are not working with me, I like them to be engaged in math practices that are at their independent and instructional levels.
Splash Math is an incredible tool that helps me teach multiple skills at different grade levels to meet my students' individual needs!
It also provides a way for my students to practice at home as well! Splash Math offers a variety of math skills from Kindergarten to fifth grade levels. This website is fun for students and allows me to easily assign practice to differentiate for my students.
