This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom of Significant Support Need students are the most inquisitive students of all! Their desire to learn is shown when they come in the door every day ready to learn! My school is known for its amazing community outreach. Breakfast is served daily free of charge for each student. Totes filled with food go home every Friday.

We have clothes and school supplies for students in need.

Our staff has created a safe learning environment for each student, and we hold each child to high expectations! There is nothing more fulfilling than to hear my students tell me how much they love coming to school!

My Project

In our Significant Special Needs classroom, we are learning with magnets in a variety of ways! Using magnets allows the kids to visually see the cause and effects of them and beyond!

Analyzing why two Magnetic Wands will either attract or repell is creating thinking minds!

Watching the force and motion, push and pulling of magnets, create wonderful ways our kids can use hands on experience to help understand magnetic fields!

Magnets are a fabulous way to allow students to engineer projects of their own. Watching a tower they have built, using the Magna-Tiles, rise and fall, due to magnetic force will create great thinking! Using Magna-Tiles will allow our kids to to get hands on experience, they might not get in the general ededucation classroom, due to their limited abilities.

Creating a pattern using the Magnetic Designer Board, will be challenging in many ways! Using the wand to grab the correct color, placing it appropriately will be a task that takes practice! The Pre-Writing Magnetic Board allows the kids too see how a magnetic ball can move with a wand, and help them learn the smooth motion of writing.

This curiosity in our children, will make Science a unit they will want to explore, with magnet based materials, not even realizing they are using many different aspects of education from writing, math, fine motor and patterning, all while learning about magnets!
