Markers, Highlighters, Pencils, Crayons, And More!
My students need 1 classroom pack of markers, 1 classroom pack of crayons, 1 classroom pack of colored pencils, 40 glue sticks, 40 packs of highlighters, and 5 pair of scissors.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach second grade in a low-income neighborhood in Chicago. Our school is a wonderful place where students are given opportunities to succeed and overcome some of their difficult circumstances. I believe that if I empower my students with knowledge and a quality education, they will have everything they need to be successful adults.
Our school is limited in what it is able to provide. Our families are also limited in what they are able to provide because of their financial circumstances. As a result, sometimes we go without some of the basic supplies that are needed in an elementary classroom.
We are currently out of markers, crayons, pencils, highlighters, gluesticks, and scissors. The ones we do have are dried up or broken. I am not able to replenish these supplies on my own and as much as my students want to bring new supplies in, they are not able to either.
If you fund this proposal we will have new markers, crayons, highlighters, colored pencils, glue sticks and scissors! We need these materials for word study- as we cut words out, categorize them, highlight the parts of words we're studying, and then glue them in categories. With your donation, we will have enough materials to work with for an entire year!
You can be the answer to our shortage of supplies problem! Thank you in advance, for looking to help those who most need it!
