My Students

I am lucky to see all 215 students in my school each week and my students know that when they come to my class, I am going to ask them to be actively engaged in our learning. We could be exploring new genres of literature, evaluating apps and websites for research, responding to writings, or maybe even partaking in rounds of musical book chairs! Learning comes in all forms in my class!

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, including family makeup, socioeconomic status, language, religion, and educational backgrounds.

With this variety comes a wide range of abilities and my job is to reach each and every one of them with every lesson I teach.

My Project

I am excited to offer my students the opportunity to explore more options in the reading area of manga and anime. Several times a week students will ask for books that complement their video and cartoon watching in the area of Japanese graphic novel manga and Japanese animation anime. Having only purchased items that come from our scholastic book fairs, I am hoping these choices continue their love of reading. The excitement of a new book combined with the excitement that comes with a favorite genre is what I hope I can give my students with this project!
