My Project

I teach math to ninth through twelfth grade students at a rural high school. Many of my students come from low-income families. They come to school looking for a way to be successful. All of my students strive to do their best in the classroom so that they can achieve great things when they graduate.

Making math fun and exciting is important for my students to be successful.

When students enjoy what they are learning, then they are more likely to remember the concepts and apply them outside of the classroom.

All of these materials will be used daily in my classroom. Students need everyday supplies, and this will allow me to provide them with those supplies in my classroom. It will limit the number of supplies they have to buy for themselves.

Students are often embarrassed to ask for items that they need, but they are grateful if those items are provided for them. It takes a burden away from them and their parents to not have as many items to buy for school. Many of my students work long hours to be able to afford the items they need for school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
