Making Space for Hands-on Learning

Help me give my students basic STEM supplies for our Makerspace stations to promote hands-on learning.

My Project

My students love to explore with building materials and create whatever their little hearts and brains desire.

However, we need basic STEM materials for students to have the opportunity for creative exploration, engineering, tinkering, and inventing.

My goal is to create the time and space that will allow students to explore these concepts with various materials in order to discover, assemble, construct, test, and build while using outside the box thinking.

These materials (straws, dominoes, toothpicks, play dough, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, foam balls, marbles, and wooden planks) will make it possible to extend our learning beyond the classroom by building structures they see every day in our community.

The table caddies, plastic storage bags, and containers will allow our classroom to stay organized in order to better use these materials, making the short time we have each day in the STEM classroom more effective.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
