Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Obesity is killing our children. We all have to make some changes to provide hope for our children. Through teaching about nutrition and physical fitness I hope to change this situation.

My students are in a Title 1 school.

Most eat free breakfast and lunch in school. Many stay indoors after school for various reasons. They have very little physical exercise outside of school. I hope to change all that. With these materials I can show them that exercise can be fun and can be done anywhere.

My Project

With these tools and activities I hope to promote healthy nutrition and physical activities. They will get encouragement about healthy behaviors that will promote better living through movement and nutrition. The children will be moving and thinking about nutrition through creative movement activities. My students need more understanding of health and fitness in their lives. With these activities including fitness mats, number activities mats,fitness kit, and healthy food game I hope to provide that.

This will make a difference in their lives.

They will get a hands-on introduction to nutrition. They will skip, squat and stretch their way to coordination and physical fitness through fun activities. They will get muscle building exercises through movement fun. We will do this both indoors and outdoors.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
