My students need 75 subscriptions to Storyworks for unique and varied opportunities during differentiated reading.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Fourth grade students are curious and excited learners! They love getting their hands on materials and learning new things. I've been fortunate to see kids dig into history discovering times and places they've never known. Watching them make connections and feel empowered by knowledge is truly a joy. My students share their ideas and their interests with each other as well as with me. I've been able to recommend books to each student based on their interests and watch their imaginations light up as they read.
My students used to receive Scholastic Storyworks and got so excited every time a new issue arrived. Unfortunately the funding for such a literary experience didn't come through and I felt my students really started to miss out. This magazine offers kids exposure to all types of literacy. They get to practice poetry and vocabulary. They get to read about history and natural disasters. We always have fun practicing and acting out the reader's theater portion while practicing craft moves involved in reading and writing plays. Having this periodical in our classroom will allow for my students to have fun while reading.
