Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Young children will only choose books when they can see the cover. Students in the younger grades have a hard time browsing books that are on the shelves. This cart enables them to browse the books by looking at the covers. Please help our Spanish speakers to find the perfect book to check out.

Our school has a large population of students learning English as a second language.

While they are learning English, they still need to learn to read. If they learn to read in Spanish, their native language, they will easily transfer these reading skills to English once they acquire this second language.

My Project

Our school library already has the English paperbacks displayed and organized in one of these carts. Now we need another cart for the books that are in Spanish. This cart not only helps with the organization and display of books, but it also helps to preserve the paperback books so that they do not get torn and bent. The students love the cart that we have. Now we need another one so that our students that are learning English can access books in Spanish.

We also have many students in our school learning Spanish as a second language.

This cart will help both our English as well as our Spanish speakers become bilingual and bi-literate!
