Making Masked-Learning Meaningful!

Help me give my students resources for ELL and hands-on manipulatives for math and reading! We also need chair pockets for each student to keep their library books and school supplies separate during the pandemic.

My Students

I am blessed to not only work, but to live in the community in which I teach! For this reason, I am doubly committed to my student population because they are my neighbors and friends.

This year my students have extra challenges, stemming from a variety of pandemic affects.

For example, some have never done any schooling, some did online school and didn't make as much progress as their in-person peers. I also have many students who are having a hard time sitting and being in school all day.

My Project

During the pandemic, our community has seen a rise of refugees, primarily from Venezuela. I currently have 7 English Language Learners in my first grade classroom. I am asking for resources that will directly help these struggling students to learn English and build a good educational foundation.

Also, because students need to keep school supplies separate from others in the class during the pandemic, I am asking for chair pockets.

These will go over a chair and allow students to keep materials such as books, ipads, and folders organized and isolated.
