This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My middle school students at our Charter School are incredibly resilient, hardworking, and eager to learn. Coming from a historically underfunded community where nearly all families are low-income, they face daily resource gaps but still show up ready to give their absolute best effort. What makes them so special is their collaborative spirit and determination to succeed; they thrive when given hands-on, creative ways to express themselves and master new skills.

My primary goal for this project is to create an equitable, highly interactive classroom where language barriers and resource limitations do not hold any student back.

By providing these essential tools, we can make daily lessons a lot easier to navigate and far more accessible:

Epson Color Printer: This will allow me to print vibrant, color-coded visual aids and highly customized worksheets that bring literature and writing to life, which is especially vital for my English Language Learners.

Spiral Notebooks: Every student will have a dedicated, organized space to draft their essays, build their vocabulary, and confidently practice their language skills.

Whiteboard Markers & Highlighters: These will be used daily for active, collaborative brainstorming and helping students physically track and highlight key evidence in their texts.

Electric Pencil Sharpener: This classroom must-have ensures we never waste precious learning time struggling with dull pencils, keeping our focus entirely on writing.
