My Students

Each student here brings a smile and their best each day. When they walk in to the media center, they are excited to be here! I look forward to assisting them with books, technology, or club information.

My students come to the media center to be inspired, escape to far away places, and discover new ideas and concepts.

Our school is located in a rural, mountainous area. We have an agricultural base in our district that lends itself to many families being here only part-time. Other families have lived here for generations and have strong roots in the community.

My Project

As I work to build a maker space in our media center, I encounter technology that can do amazing things. This Silhouette White Cameo 4 cutting machine and accessories will allow the students to make amazing things, like car stickers, balsa wood sculptures, felt and fabric clothing decorations, and more!

Maker spaces are all about doing, designing, building, and making!

Encouraging my students to use free source design software and programs needed for using this cutting machine will teach them skills to be problem solvers, 21st Century skills!

"Knowing" and "doing" work together to give the students flexible thinking abilities that challenge them. Students will be using this equipment for project-based learning that is student driven and is in conjunction with classroom teachers' curricula.
