Makedo a Magnificent Thing

Help me give my students Makedo safe construction tools to help them complete a "Magnificent Thing" created their own imagination and cardboard.

My Project

My first graders are full of creativity and imagination! This year, we're learning about grit and persistence --important skills that will help them grow as readers, thinkers, and problem solvers.

To show their progress in using grit and persistence, students will read The Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires and then design and build their own "magnificent thing." With the help of a Makedo Building kit, they'll get to turn imaginative ideas into real creations, practicing perseverance at every step.

I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Your support will provide the tools my students need to take risks, collaborate, and see themselves as capable creators. Through this experience they will gain confidence and perseverance that will benefit them beyond this project and the classroom.
