This project was part of our ELA program. Each student was able to create their own magnificent thing after reading the book \"The Most Magnificent Thing\" by Ashley Spires. They worked on using collaboration and perseverance to complete a multi-day project. Thanks to you, it was a truly engaging experience for each student, with success for all . \r\n\r\nAs I unboxed the new tools, every student's eyes went wide with excitement. The excitement continued as they realized what they were going to be able to use, and the realization of the fact that they were safe \"adult\" tools was fun to experience. When work time began, the room contained electric energy as the students got right to work. Each student was engaged and focused on experimenting on how to make their vision become a reality while using these special Makedo tools. \r\n\r\nIt was one of those unforgettable educator moments, and it was made possible entirely by your generosity. They loved every step of the project. The supplies came before the eggs. This was a great tease to create intrigue and curiosity before the project was ready to be started. I had to mark a date on the calendar so I didn't have to answer the question \"When do we get to hatch chicks?\" everyday for 6 weeks. Once we hit the day 1 of chick hatching the project came to life. My students had hands-on control from putting the eggs in the incubator, feeding and watering the newly hatched chicks, to teaching other classes about what they were learning. It was a truly sad day when we had to say good-bye so they could live their best lives in a bigger space, but I knew the sadness would wane and only happy memories and knowledge would be remain for years to come. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your part in making this project happen in my 1st grade classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1742393826107,"projectUrl":"project/chirp-chirp-engaging-young-minds-throug/9171934/","projectTitle":"Chirp-Chirp!
