This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A classroom mailbox is a great tool to teach routines and keep us organized in an efficient way. Throughout the day, documents that need to go between school and home are placed in a fill folder for them to check and collect. This includes completed student work, papers that need signatures, school notices, and daily homework. The problem with this is that papers get easily forgotten and mixed up.

This mailbox will be a fun way for students to expand their independence and learn responsibility, all while getting papers where they need to go in a structured manner.

Kids love routine and feeling independent. This mailbox will be the perfect way to cultivate that in children! The mailboxes would be a huge asset to our classroom! I love promoting independence and allowing them to learn responsibility for their own belongings. By providing the mailboxes, I would be offering them an opportunity to establish those norms in our classroom for themselves.
