With all the emphasis that our county puts on the Reading curriculum, I sometimes feel that Math is being pushed to the side. With the purchase of the Math centers, the children are able to work in independent groups on activities they are interested in. It also allows me to pull small skill-based groups to work with specific skills. Those children don't even realize that they are getting small group instruction. They just think they are playing a game with their teacher.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited to see all of the new Math games. I think they wanted to play with them all at once. I allowed them some free exploration at first to get all of the excitement out. Then I tried to work with each group and show them how to play the actual games or how they could differentiate the game to their own cognitive level.\r\n\r\nNext year, I will continue to use the Math centers in small groups for both students who need to be challenged and for students who may need some remediation. Math is an important subject for school age students to master. Educational math games help kids practice in a fun and rewarding way. Math games for kids can help make learning fun where kids actually look forward to learning.","fullyFundedDate":1757514590692,"projectUrl":"project/mathematicians-in-the-making/9637927/","projectTitle":"Mathematicians in the Making","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Westerfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3361363_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1459250603391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-westerfield33614"},{"teacherId":3361363,"projectId":10100357,"letterContent":"Thanks so much for your generous donation of Science materials for my Kindergarten students.\r\n\r\nBringing Life Science to life in the classroom is so much fun for our students. One of our favorite moments was our \"Snowballs and Snow Cones\" event. Students earned PBIS points by showing the Guidelines to Success: MAGIC and were able to purchase the event with their points. We used the decorations to completely transform the space. They enjoyed snow cones and a snowball fight! We've also been using the popcorn seasonings during our PBIS movie days, which has made those rewards even more fun and memorable.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw everything, their reactions said it all. They were excited right away! Some of our quieter students really opened up, smiling, joining in, and encouraging their classmates. It created such a positive vibe, and we saw that carry over into the classroom afterward.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we're building on that excitement by helping students set goals connected to our MAGIC values and track their progress. We're also planning our next celebration and giving students more voice in how it comes together. That sense of ownership is helping them stay motivated and take pride in making positive choices every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create these moments for our students. Students earn points by showing positive behavior aligned with our school expectations: Motivation, Achievement, Growth Mindset, Integrity, and Cooperation. They are now able to use those points to \"shop\" for rewards they helped choose and get excited about.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments happened during our first PBIS store opening. Students lined up with huge smiles, carefully counting their points and talking with friends about what they hoped to earn. Even small items like stickers, stress balls, colorful pens, and fidget toys created excitement and pride. Several students who previously struggled with behavior began setting personal goals so they could earn enough points to visit the store. Teachers immediately noticed students encouraging each other, making better choices, and taking more ownership of their actions throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, the reaction was incredible. They were amazed by the variety of choices and excited to have rewards that felt fun, meaningful, and age-appropriate. Many students proudly shared their rewards with teachers and classmates, and some even said this was the first time they had ever earned something through positive behavior at school. The PBIS store quickly became more than a reward system. It became a source of motivation, confidence, and connection.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue expanding our PBIS program by creating themed reward days, schoolwide behavior challenges, and classroom incentives tied directly to our expectations. Students are already working toward future store days and setting new behavior goals. Teachers are also incorporating the PBIS system into classroom discussions about responsibility, kindness, teamwork, and perseverance. Your support has helped us create a stronger, more positive school environment where students feel recognized, encouraged, and proud of their accomplishments every day.","fullyFundedDate":1768976115540,"projectUrl":"project/rewarding-positive-behavior-pbis-magic/9811374/","projectTitle":"Rewarding Positive Behavior: PBIS MAGIC Store","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Trotter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10306559_orig.jpg?crop=200,200,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760041847861","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10306559"},{"teacherId":10364078,"projectId":9935941,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations.
