One of our favorite moments was our \"Snowballs and Snow Cones\" event. Students earned PBIS points by showing the Guidelines to Success: MAGIC and were able to purchase the event with their points. We used the decorations to completely transform the space. They enjoyed snow cones and a snowball fight! We've also been using the popcorn seasonings during our PBIS movie days, which has made those rewards even more fun and memorable.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw everything, their reactions said it all. They were excited right away! Some of our quieter students really opened up, smiling, joining in, and encouraging their classmates. It created such a positive vibe, and we saw that carry over into the classroom afterward.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we're building on that excitement by helping students set goals connected to our MAGIC values and track their progress. We're also planning our next celebration and giving students more voice in how it comes together. That sense of ownership is helping them stay motivated and take pride in making positive choices every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create these moments for our students. They work as a media team with defined roles such as photographer, editor, and creative lead. Seeing their work published in the upcoming yearbook drives their motivation and pride. Quiet students gain confidence behind the camera. Students who struggle in traditional lessons show focus, leadership, and creativity during hands-on work.\r\n\r\nThis project helps students see themselves as capable creators. We use the scooters, rubber bases and short posts, foam discs, and KanJam in stations so every student gets focused practice and plenty of movement. In one recent class students rotated through scooter relays for balance and core strength, short-post throwing for aiming, foam-disc accuracy challenges, and KanJam pairs for teamwork. I watched several students who usually hang back become leaders at the KanJam station, cheering teammates on and showing more confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, the students cheered and immediately wanted to try everything. That excitement has led to higher participation, better behavior, and more students enjoying PE. Next, we'll use the equipment in a multi-week unit on game strategy and cooperative play where students will plan tactics, track fitness goals at each station, and reflect on improvements. Thank you for helping make PE one of the students' favorite parts of the week.","fullyFundedDate":1762968423714,"projectUrl":"project/mves-physical-education/9822889/","projectTitle":"MVES - Physical Education","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Walker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10310270_orig.jpg?crop=200,200,x0,y50&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760375393771","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10310270"},{"teacherId":9481216,"projectId":9651828,"letterContent":"How Technology Is Helping Students Learn\r\nThe new printer and labels have made a huge difference in our classroom! This technology helps me create colorful, organized anchor charts that support every student's learning. I can now quickly print visuals, vocabulary words, and step-by-step strategies that reinforce reading, writing, and math lessons. The printed labels help keep materials, centers, and resources clearly organized so students can find what they need and take ownership of their learning spaces. Having these ready-to-use materials keeps students engaged and helps them reference what they've learned independently.\r\n\r\nWhat's Most Exciting to Students\r\nMy students are most excited to see their work and ideas displayed on our new anchor charts! They love when I print out their sentences, drawings, or examples to add to the charts we build together. It makes them feel proud and part of the learning process. The bright visuals and printed labels also make our classroom look more inviting and exciting — students often point out new charts or labels as soon as they appear.\r\n\r\nStudents Who Have Warmed to the New Technology\r\nSeveral of my students who thrive on visual learning have especially benefited from the new charts. One student who often struggled to remember multi-step directions now uses the printed visual reminders to follow along independently. Another student who is still developing reading fluency has been using the printed word walls and picture labels to connect words with images, building confidence each day. This simple but powerful technology has helped every student feel more supported and successful in their learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1758202675272,"projectUrl":"project/anchor-charts-for-all/9651828/","projectTitle":"Anchor Charts for All","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9481216"},{"teacherId":10084490,"projectId":9479323,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your gracious donation. We have been able to utilize our interactive journals beyond what we initially planned for because of this thermal printer. Not only had it made instruction more meaningful, but it also has made planning easier. We can't thank you enough! Along with the thermal printer, we also got laminating sheets. This allows for them to use their anger chart over and over and really get into the habit of creating structure. They're also utilizing their resources more. Along with this one of the pieces of my project was snacks. Because I serve a low income school. Many of my kids come hungry. Not anymore. They now have these snacks readily available and can be extra ready to learn because all of their needs are being met now.","fullyFundedDate":1758829807321,"projectUrl":"project/anchor-chart-magic/9479323/","projectTitle":"Anchor Chart Magic","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hill-Hahn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10084490"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46904","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":333,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":30,"percentWhite":38,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.1,"schoolId":46904,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mount Vernon Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mount Vernon Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/pinellas-county-schools/mt-vernon-elementary-school/46904"}
