My Project
My scholars love mathematics and look forward to it daily! With that said, we are in need of storage to organize our manipulatives, and small group resources to utilize during our math block.
Kindergarten is a building block year for math skills, and I want to do everything I can to ensure that my scholars are equipped with tools and resources to use this year and beyond.
The storage bins will help us to organize new and existing math manipulatives and games that we play and use during our math block everyday. I often switch between having a small group at my desk, and small group on the classroom rug, so it is imperative to have comfortable seating. The magnetic tabletop whiteboard will also be excellent for demonstrations across subject area small groups. Many of the math games, and resources will be utilized to build number sense, addition and subtraction skills, and critical thinking skills and will be housed in our discovery zone/math center and will be used in small group.
These items would change the way that I engage in small group time, and benefit my scholars greatly as they build their number sense, subitizing, and critical thinking skills in Kindergarten.
