My Students

Our students are a part of a Pre K program for four and five year olds in Newport News, VA. They enter the class daily with bright smiles for their teachers and for each other. As the students enter the classroom they are actively searching and noticing and inquiring about the activities awaiting them throughout the classroom. Daily the students are engaged in listening and retelling, counting and sorting, drawing and writing as well as building and problem solving as they navigate the world around them.

Our school accepts those that are identified as academically high risk and we provide school readiness activities, in full-day programs.

Most of our students come from low-income households. Every child receives a free breakfast and lunch meal each day. We have 20 students in our classroom that will benefit greatly from this DonorsChoose project.

My Project

In Pre-K, we are hands-on and we love to learn by doing! That's the best way for our little ones! We would really appreciate getting a versatile Magnetic Design Center so that we can utilize that for Virtual Learning and In-Person Learning. The kids would be able to use it for writing, magnet letters, ten frames and counters, story retelling with magnet pieces, countless other games...

The Stand Up Magnetic Design Center is going to become a very useful fixture in our classroom for zooming with our students and for Small Group, Whole Group Instruction.

We plan to use these new magnetic resources throughout our classroom learning day during Morning Experiences, Literacy and Content! Thank you for supporting our classroom experiences and for helping to make our learning activities fun and engaging for our Pre-K scholars! We appreciate all your love and support!
