I can use it to talk about sweet and salty or hard or soft, or even colors and counting. The excitement was contagious as they explored their bags, compared colors, tried on their sunglasses, and couldn't wait to tell their families about everything they had received. They were a way to celebrate a year of tremendous growth. My students entered our classroom learning how to separate from their families, make friends, share materials, solve problems, and become confident learners.
