The cardstock is used for student created books! Our preschoolers have been learning letter names and letter sounds all school year long. Now, they are applying that letter knowledge to their writing and creating their own books! I want them to be durable and long lasting, so we print on cardstock. Then, the books are laminated and put through the binding machine, and added to our classroom library. Students love reading their own stories! We used hot glue for the gumball machines we made during The Ball Study. We have been investigating balls all month and our culminating activity was gumball math! We used dice to join numbers and used Skittles for gumballs. It was such a fun activity! They are washable, so if it gets on tables or clothes, it will wash right out. Our students love being creative with their Kwik Stix.
