My Project

My scholars are young, and they have learned how to read books. They are excited to read anything with vibrant pictures. These pictures will help build their vocabulary, knowledge, and usage.

I want my scholars to understand that a magazine is another source that contains stories.

My students will be able to connect their learning with the content from the magazines. These magazines will also serve as a take-home option to practice reading at home with their families. They will also take home questions that will help guide the conversation about what they are learning from each magazine. These magazines will also serve as a source for research when we are studying nonfiction literature.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
