Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have a very diverse demographic of students that range from transitional kindergarten to fifth grade and we have a brand-new special day class starting this year. Our school is a Title I School, on the edge of Antioch, California. Many parents and staff have attended our school themselves, which gives our school a sense of pride like no other.
We truly are-as we like to say it- a "Family".
We have a great reputation for following "our way" which is to be safe, kind, and responsible and school pride is in full display at all times! Here at our school, our students LOVE the library, and look forward to their visits every week.
My Project
Turner is getting a new library! We are very excited to open our new library. We want students to be able to have fun, learn and be productive. STEAM activities give students the benefit of being able to play while learning. We really want to focus on fostering creativity and building the skills to critically think.
My students need building bricks, mats, and magnets to build and explore.
I also need the books and instructional material to continue to plan projects for them that foster learning. I think that having books that model experiment or art ideas are very important because students can then form their own ideas after viewing some examples.
We really appreciate the help and support to make our new library great!
