My third graders are very active and enjoy learning new things through art, technology and play. Our school theme this year is kindness! My students have been working very hard to have integrity and to do at least one kind act everyday. They are very inspired by Kid President, who promotes kindness and making the world more awesome.
As a teacher, I hope to inspire these students to go out into the world and make it a better place!
My students love to read and they are working very hard to increase their reading and comprehension ablities.
Some of my students are at lower reading levels (from kindergarten to second grade reading level). These students already struggle with reading in general, but it is very difficult for them to find books that they are interested in.
Since the books that they are able to read are written for younger students, these students are not excited to read the books available for them.
My goal is to build a library of low level books that are interesting to 8 and 9 year old students. By building this library, my goal is to get these students excited about reading, which will get them to read more regularly and therefore increase their reading abilities.
