My Students

My students come from all over the world and speak multiple languages! I have students in kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. Several of my students are refugees and are attending school for the first time in their life.

I fell in love with these students, and I am amazed at their perseverance.

I have had the privilege of working with some of the hardest working students and families that I have ever met. I am so blessed to be in A country where so many different types of people come together to learn. We learn so much from each other every day and I am so thankful for the opportunity to bring learning alive for them.

My Project

All of these books have been picked to help me teach my students the beginning skills of literacy. I must introduce to my young readers rich books that can be sung, chanted, or rhyme. These books are fun and interactive for our youngest readers and help them begin to love books. These books have rich vocabulary that will help me teach them parts of speech such as adjectives, nouns, verbs, etc. In addition, these books have many sight words that students need to recognize and know while reading. Of students have a strong grasp of the pattern sentence structure, the sight words, and reading strategies they will be able to fluently read. This will give them the confidence to try harder level books and start to really earn what types of books that they love to read.
