My Students

My students are tech savvy and love being able to access a computer. However, we struggle with huddling around one immobile computer that is stuck in the corner. It is difficult to access and use technology to support and enhance our curriculum with the existing technology in my classroom.

In first grade using technology for any lesson is exciting and engaging for me, and my students.

I am always trying to give my students opportunities for visual learning. With only an overhead projector, my students have been unable to explore websites and create documents as we all work together on whole group projects. Internet access allows us to learn about and participate in real world projects, and keeps us aligned with current technology. A laptop in conjunction with a projector would allow us to work to our individual potential and would make every seat in the classroom a front row seat.

My Project

My students would benefit from a laptop so that they can explore all areas of the curriculum as well as extensions that enhance and support it. With a laptop connected to an LCD projector I will be able to access the Internet on a daily basis for all subjects. Our curriculum is rich with interactive websites and learning opportunities that support student instruction as well as activities to practice new skills. A laptop is an efficient teaching tool for presenting engaging visual lessons to all students at once, as well as creating new documents.

My students need a laptop so they can have Internet access to enhance and support all parts of the curriculum.

They can also be assured that every seat is a front row seat. We love laptops!
